Logline

We journey to the Indigenous people who have protected the primal sea with wisdom passed down since ancient times.

Synopsis

In Papua New Guinea, the Koiwai tribe shows us how nature and humanity can live in harmony. It's not us protecting nature. It's the tiny beings of nature that have been protecting humanity. The depth of the ocean captured here will become a precious record of marine ecology.

Director's Statement

Even in today's world, where marine ecosystems are rapidly being destroyed, there are still places where the primal sea remains alive. By living with the Indigenous people of Kaimana, we seek to learn ancient wisdom and to reflect on how far we have drifted from the land and the sea.
