K-Pitch Fresh
K-Pitch Fresh supports Korean creators and production companies to help projects with less than 30% of the planning and development stages and production stages reach the production stage, with the ultimate goal of advancing overseas as the project has global competitiveness.

Eligibility Criteria | • Medium- or feature-length documentary projects in early stage of development (less than 30 percent of the total production accomplished) • No pending application to any other support program, K-Pitch Fresh has to be the FIRST application for the applying project. (*After selected, application to other funds are permitted) • Only Korean directors or producers are eligible to apply • Applying teams have to be fluent in English and able to pitch and travel |
How it works | Applications should be submitted ▷ 1st round: Submitted materials will be reviewed ▷ 2nd round: in-person presentation ▷ Finalists will announced (the fifth week of July) ▷ One-to-one consultation with international documentary experts(August, October) and pitching at the K-DOCS period ▷ Orientation (end of October) ▷ Pitching at “Korea Pitching Day” during IDFA period (in November) ▷ Final report should be completed and submitted |
Support | • Selected projects will receive the following support: Development support (each team will receive 4 million KRW) • The best project will receive the Grand Prize by the Minister of Science and ICT, endowed with 40 million KRW, the 2nd best project will receive the Grand Prize of the Korea Communications Agency’s President, endowed with 18 million KRW, and the 3rd best project will be given the Excellence Award of the Korea Communications Agency’s President endowed with 10 million KRW. ※The grants will be paid step by step, from the development support to cash prize support. ※Airfare, accommodation, and the IDFA badge will be covered for the participants. ※The amount of cash prize includes tax. |
Selection Process | • First round: Applications will be reviewed by juries consisting of Korean senior documentary professionals • Second round: In-person presentation ※ The finalists will be announced on the website and by email |
Notification | • Application materials will not be returned. • The finalists MUST attend the pitching event and the preparatory training workshop during K-DOCS period. • Absence, interruption, or withdrawal are not allowed throughout the whole program. If not complying with this rule, applicants may be restricted from applying for funds managed by the Ministry of Science and ICT in the future. |
