GAN Chao

Shanghai Media Group | Producer

GAN Chao obtained his BA degree in Chinese literature of Fudan University, China and MA degree from the Department of Drama at the University of Bristol, UK. From 2014 to 2020, he served as General Manager of the Documentary Channel at Shanghai Media Group and Vice President of Youku, the major streaming platform. As a documentary film director, his works include Last House Standing, The Red Race, China before China, Tales of Chinese Medicine, etc., which have won over 35 international awards including a Peabody award, and Best film at Docupolis, Zagreb Film Festival, Shanghai TV Festival, Beijing International Film Festival, etc. Gan Chao was awarded International Documentary Trailblazers Award at MIPTV, Person of the Year 2017 at China Documentary Academy Award, Person of the Year 2018 Award by China Film and Television Magazine, China’s Most Influential Documentary Filmmaker Award by Guangming Daily and DocuChina, Top Talent Award by Shanghai Municipal Government, etc.

KIM Young

MIRU Pictures | Producer

Producer KIM Young has worked as the Korean producer on the Korea France co-produced documentaries The Man Who Paints Water Drops and Everything That Connects Us. She was also a co-producer of Mr. Kim Goes to the Cinema, released this year, and is currently producing a Korea-France co-produced documentary on art, scheduled for release next year. She serves as an Executive Committee Member of the DMZ International Documentary Film Festival and as a K-DOCS Operations Committee Member.

KIM Jeongjoong

KBS | Producer

KIM Jeongjoong has worked for 30 years as a documentary producer at KBS. He has produced on history and current affairs documentaries, and served as the head of overseas documentary acquisitions. He was the commissioner for KBS international co-productions such as The Asian Pitch and the CARE Series, and also worked as Executive Producer and Co-producer for KBS’s international co-production projects. Since 2017, he has been a final juror for the International Emmy Awards for documentaries. After serving as Director of Programming and Production at KBS Jeju, he is currently working as a program reviewer at KBS.

KIM Hyun

TV Producer & Generative AI Educator

Hyun KIM is a veteran television producer who has spent more than three decades creating documentaries and educational programs at EBS, Korea’s public educational broadcaster. His production credits include Knowledge Channel e, Portraits of Our Time, and EBS Docuprime, among many other acclaimed programs. He currently explores and teaches the convergence of generative artificial intelligence and media, with a particular interest in how emerging technologies can expand creative storytelling. Throughout his career, he has remained committed to documentaries that examine people and society with insight, empathy, and depth, while continually seeking innovative forms of nonfiction expression for diverse audiences worldwide.

Sung MOON

JEONJU International Film Festival | Programmer

Starting with the Jeonju Intl. Film Festival program team in 2004, she has been active in international film festivals and documentary industry forums, including the Busan Intl. Film Festival, KT&G Sangsangmadang Cinema, Jeonju Project Market, and Docs Port Incheon. She served as the Korean Film Council's representative in Latin America and created the Buenos Aires Korean Film Festival in 2014. Moon has been working as a programmer for Jeonju Intl. Film Festival since 2019. She also edited books such as What Will Be Of Cinema? (2021), I Am Independent (2021), Borderless Storyteller (2022), and Tsai Ming-Liang - Walker Series (2024).

PARK Bongnam

Director

He has directed numerous television documentaries in collaboration with Korean broadcasters since 1994. In 2009, he won the Grand Prize in the Mid-Length Documentary Competition at the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) for Iron Crows. Following the Sewol Ferry Disaster in 2014, he formed the 416 Archives Group with fellow filmmakers and continued documenting the aftermath over many years. In 2025, he released 1980 Sabuk, a documentary film about the Sabuk Incident.

SUGANO Makoto

Tokyo Docs | Executive Director

SUGANO Makoto has worked as a director and producer of arts and science documentaries since 2002. He has participated in international co-productions with Bangladesh, Vietnam, and the Netherlands, including a documentary about Bangladesh’s first female surfer. In 2017, he joined the organizing committee of Tokyo Docs, Japan’s leading documentary pitching and networking event connecting filmmakers with broadcasters and media professionals worldwide. In 2026, he was appointed Executive Director of Tokyo Docs.

Ove Rishøj JENSEN

Paradiddle Pictures | Owner

Ove Rishøj JENSEN, Documentary Advisor and Consultant, Denmark Working in the international documentary sector since 2003, Ove Rishøj Jensen has an extensive network within the industry. Since November 2025 Ove is working as a Documentary Advisor for the Nordisk Film & TV Fond.

Based in Copenhagen, Ove launched in 2019 his own company for documentary training and consultancy, entitled Paradiddle Pictures, which he still runs. He mentors and moderates at pitching forums such as Fipadoc, K-Docs, Tokyo Docs and M:Brane. He also leads the workshop series DocCelerator, which has provided dramaturgical guidance to more than 350 filmmakers from all corners of the world.

UCHIYAMA Taku

NHK | Producer

An award-winning director and producer behind NHK’s flagship documentary strand, he specializes in investigative reporting on global conflicts, terrorism, and the Fukushima nuclear disaster. In 2020, he earned the prestigious Newspaper Publishers and Editors Association Award for uncovering the cover-up of war dead remains. Regularly reporting on the frontlines of Ukraine and Palestine, his work centers on human stories amidst war. He served as a juror for the International Emmy Awards (Asian region) and the final round of the Japan Prize in 2023.

LEE Sungmin

Director

She works across photography and media art, drawing on documentary filmmaking as her foundation. Through the seven-year project Gaepo There and the feature documentary Green Concrete, she has documented the memories of spaces and trees disappearing amid urban redevelopment. She has received the Documentary Ock Rang Award at the Seoul International Women’s Film Festival Pitch & Catch and the H!-Docs Pitch Industry Choice Award at K-DOCS. Her photographic and media installation works have been exhibited at Oil Tank Culture Park and the Seoul Museum of Art, among others.

LEE Changjae

Chung-Ang University, GSAIM | GSAIM Dean

In 2003, his feature film EDIT was invited to prestigious venues such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Leipzig International Film Festival, and the Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival. His subsequent documentaries Between, On the Road, and Our President were invited to the Jeonju International Film Festival and the Thessaloniki International Film Festival, with each becoming the highest-grossing documentary of its respective year. Released in 2017, Our President attracted an audience of 1.85 million, an unprecedented record for a documentary film. He currently serves as the dean of the Graduate School of Advanced Imaging Science, Multimedia & Film at Chung-Ang University.

LEE Harkjoon

University of Oxford | Korea Fellow, Department of Politics and International Relations (DPIR)

LEE Hark-Joon’s documentaries on North Korean defectors and K-pop have been selected for competition at major international film festivals, including the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA). He won the Golden Nymph Award at the Monte-Carlo Television Festival and has received three nominations each for the Emmy Awards and the Banff Rockie Awards. He has worked with the BBC, PBS, NHK, ZDF, Arte, Canal+, and other international broadcasters. His directing credits include Crossing Heaven’s Border (2008), 9 Muses of Star Empire (2012), and A Good Business (2018). He is currently developing ChunMee at the Oxford Centre for Korea Studies, University of Oxford, combining documentary filmmaking with academic research.

LEE Hyejin

EBS | Producer

She has been working at EBS as a director and producer since 2009. The programs she directed and produced include EBS Space Empathy, Architecture Exploration – Home, Docuprime: The Usefulness of Art, Docuprime: 100 Years of Women’s History, and Docuprime: The Face of Money. She has received numerous honors, including the Presidential Commendation for the Sejong Culture Award, the Seoul Mayor’s Commendation, the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family Commendation, the Korea Broadcasting Grand Prize for Best Program, the Korea PD Awards Special Prize, and the YWCA Content Award. She is currently directing Hobby is Science.

Jeremy Yewhan JOEY

DMZ Docs | Head of Industry (Programmer)

Yewhan Joey began his role as a programmer for the DMZ International Documentary Film Festival (DMZ Docs) Industry in 2026. He started his career in documentary filmmaking in 2011 and directed his first feature documentary in 2017. He has been involved in the many events as a curator of community cinema programmes, moderator, and forum panellist.

He also works as a documentary producer. As an emerging producer from South Korea, he participated in DOK Leipzig in 2024 and the Berlinale EFM in 2025, Rotterdam Lab in 2026 and was selected for the annual EURODOC programme in 2024.

JEE Hyewon

Director

JEE Hyewon is a filmmaker who focuses on character-driven documentaries. Her feature debut, Singing with Angry Bird, gained international recognition at IDFA and Sheffield. She directed Free Minu, the opening film of the 2018 DMZ International Documentary Film Festival, and Home away from Home, which won the Grand Prize at the 2021 Seoul Independent Film Festival. Her recent work, The Voices, won the Documentary Award at the Jeonju International Film Festival for its poignant portrayal of the Jeju 4·3 Uprising and Massacre through women's perspectives. She continues to explore the intersection of personal narratives and history.

KOMO Nami

Asahi TV | International Division ABC Frontier

KOMO Nami is an International Producer at Asahi Television Broadcasting Corporation (ABC TV), Japan. She works across international co-production, format development, IP distribution, and partnerships with broadcasters, producers, and platforms worldwide. Her recent projects include the documentary *Lady Yakuza*, which received awards at Tokyo Docs and was selected for Sheffield DocFest 2026. She also develops and brings Japanese unscripted and scripted content to international markets, with a particular focus on connecting stories rooted in Japan with global audiences and creative partners.

Patrizia MANCINI

Sheffield DocFest |Head of Industry

Italian based in Paris with a master’s in history and Critic of Cinema and a background in theatre and dubbing, Patrizia has been in the documentary industry since 2012. She worked with companies such as Wide House, Slingshot Films and Deckert Distribution GmbH for international sales & acquisitions and with the well renewed French International co-production market Sunny Side of the Doc as Head of Talents & International Development. In 2024 she joined the team of UK leading documentary festival Sheffield DocFest as Head of Industry and Industry Senior Consultant where she oversees the MeetMarket, DocFest co-pro forum, the Talents Schemes and the Marketplace activities.

HA Sinae

Boda Media Group | Producer

HA Sinae is a Seoul-based producer and founder of BODA Media Group. She co-directed and produced her debut feature documentary, Here Comes Uncle Joe, and has since produced international co-productions including Reach for the SKY, God BLISS Our Home, and Stammering Ballad, among others. Her work explores the intersection of society and individual lives through intimate, character-driven storytelling. Sandra, the Primate Citizen is her second feature as director.

Gunny HYOUNG

EIDF | Artistic Director

Gunny first studied Architecture but switched to Mass Communication (BA) & TV and Film (MA) in America. He started with the documentary program in EBS and then became one of the founding members of EIDF. His overseas career started with Radio Netherlands, ABU (Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union) in Malaysia for years. Gunny has also worked for various juries such as Shanghai, Chicago and Rio de Janeiro Film Festival and decision makers of Tokyo DOCs, Intl. Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam and HotDocs Canada. He is currently working for the Artistic Director of EIDF and K-DOCS.
