Pitch

EBS Commissioning Pitch is the first Korean TV commissioning program to support middle-length, world-class content. The selected projects will be broadcasted on EBS's signature documentary slot, Docu-Prime. Four Korean and Asian projects will be selected by EBS commissioners, and granted with 15 million KRW each.

Key dates and Deadlines
The application period begins on May 26(FRI), 2023
Deadline: June 25(SUN), 2023, 23:59 (KST)
Eligibility criteria
• TV documentary projects to fit into a 55-minute time slot
• Subjects which fit to the identity and objective of EBS Docu-Prime are preferable.
• Korean and international directors and producers are eligible to apply.
※ For international participants, the airfare and accommodations for ONE of the team members will be covered.
(Support after consultation with Industry coordinator related to airfare)
Support
4 Projects will receive 20 million KRW each
※ The final number of projects and amount of grants will be decided by EBS Docu-Prime commissioners after the pitch.

※ The projects in EBS Commissioning Pitch will be selected through the evaluation of internal EBS juries so they are permitted to apply for other pitch programs as necessary.
Requirements
• The granted documentary has to be broadcasted on EBS Docu-Prime within one year after signing the contract
(※ If approved by EBS, the production period can be extended to one more year.)
• The project will be made available on D-BOX, the OTT platform run by EBS. (Can be discussed)
Selection
Process
Applications will be reviewed by EBS Commissioners.
(if necessary an interview will be requested)
Expected Schedule
‣ Open Pitching: Proceeding in K-DOCS period-Selected through 7 minutes of presentation and 8 minutes of Q&A (15 minutes in total, international pitch standard)
‣ Announcement of Selected Works: Proceeding in August, 2023
‣ Contract: Proceeding in September
※ In the case of global participants, presentation in English and interpretation is conducted sequentially
※ Because it is selected through the review by EBS internal review team, it may be awarded in duplicate with other production support programs

① Entry form (including the participation agreement) [form attached]
② Consent forms (Personal information consent form, application for participation agreement, Consent form of guarantee declaration that all copyrights have been cleared) [form attached]
③ Proposal (including synopsis, director’s note, treatment, production schedule, budget, financial plan, filmographies of director and producer, max. 15 pages) Has to be submitted in Korean or English
④ Trailer (An Online screener of 3 minutes) and rough cut (An Online screener of approx. 10-20 minutes) with English subtitle
⑤ Budget [form attached]
Notification
• Application materials will not be returned.
• Incomplete applications cannot be accepted.
• The finalists MUST attend pitching event during K-DOCS period
• Ending Credit requirements: “Supported by EIDF and EBS” with logos
• The copyrights of all footages and archive materials in the program have to be cleared before being broadcasted.
Payment Process• Within one month after the selected projects have been announced the contract with EBS Docu-Prime will be signed
• 50% of the commissioning fee of EBS Docu-Prime will be paid in advance, 50% after submission of the completed version.
• The selected project has to be covered by a contract performance bond insurance.
